I have a wonderful opportunity for Mrs Mo's readers to win a $50 gift certificate to dine at the elegant Bruno Jamais Restaurant in NYC.

First, a little bit about the restaurant:

Bruno Jamais Restaurant Club brings the French Riviera to the upper east side. Where else can one dine in style until 3am with delectable cuisine such as Lobster Brulee and Foie Gras?

The service and décor are equally impressive. The restaurant received the "Best Interior Design" award by Hospitality Design Magazine. Now, for the first time in the restaurant's four history, Bruno Jamais is open on Sunday nights for dinner, dancing and drinks with a reduced priced menu served from 6pm through 2am. In addition, there is also live entertainment.

Two Week Countdown

Today is my official 2 week countdown to baby (if I don't go into labor before then). I have so many emotions swirling in my head (thank you 3rd trimester) and I'm not afraid to admit how terrified I am about giving birth! Unfortunately, it looks as though I will be having a c-section since Baby Girl Morris is breech, though many women I talk to preferred the "C" to regular birth and if they could do it again would opt for the "C" instead.

I'd love to hear your stories of childbirth. Whether or not it will ease my terror....it's still fun to share!

Simple Shower Centerpiece

Recently, my step-sis Steff had her bridal shower where I was in charge of decorations. The theme was citrus with pink and orange (her colors). I knew I wanted to do a large vase with fruit and tall flowers sticking out, but I hit the Internet to find a visual. The main resources I used was a site from iVillage about a full citrus themed bridal shower.

Both vases were pretty easy to assemble. For instructions, see below:

Tall Vase Centerpiece
1 tall & narrow rectangular vase
1 dozen citrus fruit (oranges & lemons0
3 silk or real gladiolas
3 silk or real Gerber daisies

Cut fruit in half. Place flowers in vase and while you hold them up, place fruit pieces, flat side out, in vase to cover as much of the flower stems as possible. Alternate oranges and lemons. If necessary, cut fruit halves into thinner slices to fit in vase.

Small Centerpiece
2 short hurricane shape vases
Lemon or Orange pieces (take from dozen above)
1 block of floral foam for silk flowers
4-5 silk Gerber daisies
2 taper candles (height depending on preference)

Cut thin fruit slices. Cut floral foam in thin rectangle small enough to fit in vase and large enough for candle and flowers to stick into. With foam in place, slide fruit pieces in place. Slide cut Gerber daisy stems into foam and finish with candle in the center.

Both centerpieces were easy to assemble and took care of the rest of the decorations. You don't need much else. Even though the picture below is dark, you can still see the effect.

Get your Diva on at Houlihan's

Here's an exciting new ladies night opportunity that I can't WAIT to partake in in a few months:

Houlihan's has recently announced Wednesday Night Diva events taking place starting Wednesday April 9th and lasting until June 11th.

They're also sponsoring a "Sex and the City" movie sweepstakes and will be giving away two tickets for two to attend the SATC movie premiere. They've created custom martinis (ah-hem, $5 custom martinis) named after the “Sex and the City” characters that reflect their personalities that will be on special for the Diva events on Wednesdays.

You can get more information about participating locations at houlihans.com/diva

Febreze your laundry

For some time now, I've been in search of a detergent that left my clothes smelling laundry fresh. I tried regular Tide and then, after admiring my girlfriend's fresh clothing, I tried ALL. Neither gave me the result I was looking for. But I found a solution...all thanks to Febreze!

Last night I decided to purchase Tide with Febreze (Meadows & Rain scent) hoping that if it can freshen my sofa and carpet, then it would do the same for my laundry. And I was right! Not only does the Tide leave my clothing smelling nice, the Febreze actually seeped through the washing machine throughout the house. Magic!

Email scammers stop beating around the bush

Last summer, when I posted my tutoring services on Craigslist, I received a few scam emails from men looking for tutoring for their child who was going to be in the states for the summer. The scam involved paying upfront with a money order for 3 months of tutoring after I sent a fee to process it. You can see where this was going.

Well, this morning I had another email from another check scammer. This time, there was no tutoring opportunity to hide behind. Instead, the emailer was up front with the fraud. I really had to laugh at the message:

My Friend.

I have deposited the cheque with Oceanic Bank,to process it into ATM CARD for you. Arrangement for processing your cheque of $1,500.000.00 into ATM card will be made on your contact with ATM DEPARTMENT. contact Mrs Chi Chi . EMAIL:

(
mrschichi96@aol.fr) Phone +229-9728-0821 Send your contacts to enable him process your Master card fast. Note It was agreed that you will send to them $175 Only for the processing of your ATM card. RGDS.

Mr Paul

I love how he is responding to "my request" after I "agreed" to send money for an ATM card. How easy it is to obtain 1.5 million dollars! Who needs the lottery!

These scams are prevalent with Craigslist postings and usually request that you send money in order to obtain a money order or an ATM card.

Be careful not to fall for it either. This man actually spent some time in jail after being a victim of a Craigslist check fraud scam.

Here is some more information about signs that you're being scammed.
